Hermi Sarajevo celebrates 20 years in Bosnia and Herzegovina

With over 15,000 installations across the country, an average annual sales growth of 20% over the past five years, and a new, modern warehouse and office facility enabling greater efficiency and responsiveness, Hermi d.o.o. marks two decades of professional presence in the Bosnian market. The Sarajevo-based company is part of the international Hermi Group, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of lightning protection equipment, cable trays, and ladders. In 2025, the parent group will also celebrate its 40th anniversary.

This spring, Hermi Sarajevo relocated to a new warehouse and business facility in the Novi Grad municipality of Sarajevo. The new premises are three times larger than the previous ones and provide improved conditions for storage, technical support, and internal organization. The move reflects the company’s steady and sustained growth in recent years.

Hermi d.o.o. was established on April 8, 2005, as the second subsidiary of Slovenian-based Hermi in the region. Under the leadership of local director Adnan Brajlović – who has been with the company since its founding – Hermi Sarajevo offers a comprehensive portfolio of solutions for protection against direct lightning strikes, surge protection, solar mounting systems, and cable systems for electrical and other cable distribution. Today, the company supports all phases of a project – from consulting to implementation – with technical expertise, flexibility, and a strong local presence as its key competitive advantages.

Our goal was clear from the start: to offer technically high-quality and complete solutions for lightning protection of buildings and systems. I am particularly proud that we are now recognized as a partner that not only supplies products but also delivers knowledge and support throughout all phases of a project,” says Adnan Brajlović.

Hermi Sarajevo currently employs six people and plans to expand its team – especially with new electrical engineers, including its own scholarship recipients. The company collaborates with technical secondary schools and engineering faculties.

Today, lightning protection equipment accounts for the largest share of Hermi Sarajevo’s total sales at 50%. This is followed by cable trays and ladders (25%), solar mounting systems (15%), and surge protection (10%). Over the past three years, the company has seen annual growth of around 20%, confirming its market stability and growing customer confidence. Whereas sales used to be seasonal with slower winter months, they are now distributed more evenly throughout the year—further proof of the company’s business diversification and expansion.

Over the past two decades, Hermi products have been installed in more than 15,000 buildings across the country. These include numerous sites of national importance, religious and historical landmarks, infrastructure and energy facilities, commercial buildings, residential complexes, and private homes. Key national reference projects in lightning protection include Sarajevo International Airport, road tunnels, hospitals, the Jablanica and Grabovica hydroelectric power plants, the Tuzla and Kakanj thermal power plants, the Butila biogas plant, and the Podveležje wind power plant. In the industrial sector, notable clients include ASTA Bosnia, GINEX Goražde, FEAL Mostar, Natron-Hayat, Standard Prnjavor, Violeta, and others. In the commercial sector, highlights include the local retail chain Bingo, the international chain Lidl, the Spanish Market shopping centre in Sarajevo, telecommunications operator BH Telecom, and the new Porsche sales and service centre in Sarajevo.

Miran Rauter, CEO of the Hermi group, commented: “Today, our products are present in nearly all key segments—from industry, healthcare, and energy to transport and cultural heritage—which speaks to the reliability, quality, and technical expertise of our company.”

Hermi Sarajevo is also strategically strengthening its local presence through continued sales growth and an expanded product portfolio. The company works with a wide network of customers, distributors, and electrical installers throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, ensuring fast response times and efficient product delivery. Its goal is to establish a robust logistics system that ensures 24-hour availability of its full product range, while enhancing its technical presence across all regions through local partner networks. This accessibility and integration with the local environment allow the company to stay close to end-users and respond swiftly to market needs. Hermi Sarajevo also actively participates in trade fairs and organizes open days and partner meetings.

By investing in people, logistics, and expertise, Hermi Sarajevo remains focused on sustainable growth and long-term success. As the company celebrates 20 years of business, it looks to the future with a clear mission: to ensure safety, reliability, and technical excellence in every project.
