Hermi opens applications for sports scholarships for 2026/2027
Celje, 1 October 2026 – Hermi is continuing its support for promising young athletes in the 2026/2027 school and academic year. This year, sports scholarship programmes are being offered in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Applications are open until 23 October 2026.
In Slovenia, Hermi is awarding sports scholarships for the sixth consecutive year. This year also marks an important milestone, as the programme is being introduced in Serbia for the first time. In Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hermi is continuing its support for young athletes as part of a long-term commitment that has become an important element of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
During the previous school and academic year, Hermi supported a total of nine young athletes. Some scholarship recipients receive support for one year, while others continue with the programme over several years, allowing Hermi to follow and support their sporting and personal development over time.
The scholarships are intended for young athletes aged between 15 and 21 who have been actively involved in sport for at least three years and have achieved notable results. Applicants must also have regular secondary school or university student status and demonstrate that they are able to successfully balance their sporting commitments with their education.
Sporting results are not the only consideration in the selection process. Hermi also places great importance on the goals, motivation and values that young athletes develop through sport. Teamwork, self-discipline, perseverance, hard work, competitiveness, talent and commitment to achieving goals are values that are equally important within Hermi.
“Hermi has been supporting athletes for many years. Our cooperation initially took the form of sponsorships, and in recent years we have also introduced scholarships. The idea behind the programme is simple: it enables us to support young athletes directly, get to know their individual stories and ensure that our support reaches the young people we want to help,” says Miran Rauter, CEO of Hermi.
